Using CouldBeDown

• You sign in with a Google account and are responsible for activity under your account.
• Use the service only for lawful purposes. Don't use it to harass others, send spam, or interfere with the service.
• Event details you enter (titles, locations, descriptions) and your name, photo, availability, and RSVPs are visible to other participants in that event.

SMS Terms

Program name: CouldBeDown Event Updates.

Program description: When you opt in, CouldBeDown sends recurring automated text messages with event updates for plans you've joined: when a host proposes a time and when plans are confirmed. You also receive a one-time confirmation message when you sign up.

How to opt in

You opt in during account setup or on the Settings page by entering your mobile number and checking the SMS consent box, which is unchecked by default. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using CouldBeDown or of any purchase.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on the events you join and how often hosts propose or confirm times.

Costs

Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan for details. CouldBeDown does not charge for text messages.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You'll receive one final message confirming you've been unsubscribed, and no further messages will be sent. You can also turn off texts on your Settings page. To rejoin, reply START or opt in again in Settings.

Carriers

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and device and is not guaranteed.

Privacy

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.

Google Calendar

If you connect Google Calendar, you authorize CouldBeDown to read your free/busy times and to add and remove calendar entries for plans you've confirmed you're attending. You can disconnect at any time in Settings. Our handling of Google data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

CouldBeDown is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that notifications or calendar updates will always be delivered. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CouldBeDown is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes and termination

We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes means you accept them. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms. You may stop using CouldBeDown at any time.
